Bridgwater Bushi Karate Club has been in existence since 1983. We offer expert tuition
in Karate and self defence for ages from six to getting on a bit.. All our instructors
are fully qualified and affiliated to Alliance of Intentional Wado-
With over seventy students
currently training at all age levels and abilities you can be assured you will not
feel the odd one out. Our training consists of traditional techniques that make up
a set syllabus for belt grading. We hold grading's every three months and Black belt
grades twice a year. In addition to the traditional training we also hold seminars
and events throughout the year; Renowned Instructors from all over the country and
such as Chris Rowen, Iain Abernethy, Mick Coup, Alan Gibson, Mo Teague, Matty Evans.
Last year we had two seminars filmed and are now avaialble on DVD from Summersdale Productions (see links Page).
We strive to create a club that is welcoming to all who wish to train and learn martial arts. It has always been our philosophy to behave in a gentlemanly way and it is this translation of the word Bushi which we have taken as our club name. All we ask is you provide the energy, effort and enthusiasm to compliment our time spent teaching you the art we love and have spent a life time learning.
